Three day's to capture a big boat going from dry dock to the ocean.
It's a gas-processing barge soon sailing from Nantong, China to work off the coast of South America.
It was a half billion dollar enterprise ready to go to sea. And our task was to document the dramatic launch.
I arrived with my assistant and met a crew of seven: a local producer, drone crew and assistants.
We captured the end result of many years of design work by Black and Veatch of Kansas City, USA and Wilson Shipbuilders of Nantong, China.
Challenging, draining and fun was the process of filming the launch of the Caribbean FLNG.
Shooting and directing stills, motion and a drone crew in cold windy temperatures made for a great three day's of hard work and challenges.
Such a big project needs to be rewarded with big images.
So that's what we did: all angles; time lapse; motion; stills; drones; go pros; and spirit.
We all got it right. Our client has great footage. And the barge soon sails to South America.
